DHCP Offers

I currently have this setup:

Workstations requesting DHCP through a router which has an IP Helper
pointing the workstations to the IP of my DHCP server. The server has an IP
address of 192.168.203.10. The workstations are on the 192.168.193.X segment
of my network.

When I setup my scope to hand out addresses 192.168.193.X/255.255.240.0 the
DHCP server sees the DHCP discover packets coming in and it sends back an
Offer and everything works fine.

When I setup my scope to hand out addresses 192.168.193.X/255.255.255.0 the
DHCP server sees the DHCP discover packets coming in and doesn't seem to do
anything with them. The DHCP server never sends out any DHCP Offers.

Then, if take a workstation and put in a static IP address of
192.168.193.250/255.255.255.0, the workstation is able to communicate fine on
the network.

Suggestions? Thank you ahead of time for any help.

You have conflicting masks. All the maskes of every subnet would be
identical.

These:
192.168.193.X/255.255.240.0
192.168.193.X/255.255.255.0
.....are incompatible. Every one of the addresses in the first one also exist
in the second one.

I understand that. I am trying to use the 192.168.192.X/255.255.255.0 (24)
instead of 192.168.193.X/255.255.240.0 (20). The network I am working on
setup their DHCP incorrectly to begin with but I don't understand why I can
get it to work with a 24 bit subnet mask. I am removing the 20 big subnet
mask scope and creating a new 24 bit subnet mask scope.

What are the exact specs of your Scopes? List them,..at least the stuff
specific to basic TCP/IP.

Also, what is the IP address and mask of your router? Is it still using the
255.255.240.0 mask?
