DHCP cannot renew

I'm on XP Pro with a linkSys-B wireless. For some reason
DHCP clinet does not renew the IP address and the old IP is
cached. (I can see the old address under device properties
of the wireless card). The Connection to the router is
established but it cannot make it to the ISP server.

ipconfic /renew or release throw eror messages indicating
that cannot use this command on a non-existing device.

The repair menu option of the Ethernet connection produces
and error as well.

Is there any other way to force the IP renew?

Thanks much.

Shut your linksys off for about 3 minutes along with your
computer. Reboot linksys first and a minute later reboot
your computer. If that doesn't do it, make sure you did
not put in a static IP on the wireless card, if so change
it to DHCP. If not, try putting in a Static IP with
subnet mask and Default gateway the matches your linksys
set up. If that doesn't work call Linksys. Also, are you
sure you did not turn on MAC addressing on the linksys?
