DHCP and Vlans

Jim

Trying to set up 1 DHCP server to service multiple
VLANs. When I move from one VLAN to the next I cannot
get a new DHCP address with in that VLAN. I have the
helper address pointing back to the DHCP server for every
port.

Any Ideas?

Hi,

Do you have a scope for each subnet? Can any client get an IP address? Do
ceratin scopes work and other not work?

.

Are you routing between VLANS ? Also look up the udphelper
command for the command line NOS of your switch. This
helper will let you define where to forward all dhcp
broadcast packet replys to.

good luck
