We have had DFS setup on our Windows 2000 domain for over
2 years; the clients have been Windows 2000 systems. We
have just started adding XP clients and have notice the
following problem with DFS on these clients:
When we type in the DFS share name \\software\apps it
redirects to the closest server. But when you type in the
actual share name \\davis1fs1\apps you are redirected to
another random server share in the DFS share. I have
scanned the web and Microsoft's site but not even found
this problem described.
