DFS Causes problems w/existing share

I am trying to implement DFS in a Windows 2000 AD (mixed
mode) environment. No DFS Roots currently exist. I have
no problem creating a DFS root and replica and links.

The problem is that when I create the DFS the existing
share starts giving "Disk is Full" errors when users try
to save things there. There is tons of space available
and the user can successfully copy manually using
explorer but if you try to save something from an
application (ie Word, Excel) to the share you get a "Disk
if Full" error.

I have had to delete the DFS root and reboot the server
to get rid of the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

DFS just redirects the UNC path to the correct underlying
share's UNC path, so i would suspect one of your link targets
is having "Disk Full" problem. Please check the target shares
for this.

OK, but I am not saving to the DFS, I am saving the file
to the mapped share. I get the Disk Full problem when I
simply create the DFS root and links, I don't even map
anyone to it yet and I start having problems.

Do I need to restart after I create the DFS Root?

You need not restart after creating the DFS root.
If possible post your DFS configuration and the
share you are trying to save to.
