Device with built-in barcode scanner, printer and GPRS?

Can anyone help with this?

We are looking for a mobile device with built-in barcode scanner,
printer and GPRS connectivity.

The printer must be able to print bar codes.

The GPRS is for web services connectivity.

Can be either Win CE or PPC.

Must be robust e.g. the scanner can't be a clip-on into the port like
some solutions we have seen.

Preferably GPRS built-in but could go for a add-on GPRS card.

Have searched the groups but can't find anything that has all three.

Many thanks

If you could use a Bluetooth printer, you might find more options from
manufacturers such as Intermec and Symbol Technologies. That might be a more
ergonomic choice too if the printer is worn on a belt.

Thanks for the input.

I've looked at belt printers but the user is adamant that the printer
must be built-in to the device.

Thanks

I'd be pretty surprised if you found that combination of things in a single
device. "Big", "bulky",
"inconvenient", all come to mind. Separating out the printer helps a *lot*.

Agreed but ....

Bluebird make such a device but with WLAN not GPRS. That;s probably the
"closest" to date.

Thanks

Documentation seems pretty limited (no English manual). Processor is a
generation old, but, otherwise, sounds like a pretty good fit.

Beg your pardon. Grabbed the wrong page. Sounds like fun...

There is the Casio IT-300 which includes all these features.

No GPRS, is there? But I guess that PCMCIA might take care of that. If
anyone has a GPRS card that works with non-PPC Windows CE devices, please
drop a note...

Thanks for that.

Yes - we had a look at the Casio. If it's the one I'm thinking off, the
bar -code reader clips in on the side and seemed to be prone to be
displaced or (even worse) broken off.

In terms of the GPRS card, the Vodafone Globetrotter provides the GPRS
connectivity.

Thanks

This device can be drop from a height of 1.2 meters.

Any edge? is the question, though. A straight drop against the bottom is
not an any-angle drop. If you drop it just right, it certainly looks like
it could break loose...

It's not just dropping it that's the problem. What about working with
the device and lowering your hand to pick up something underneath and
hitting the scanner with your hand on the way down? ... or working in a
confined space and catching it against the edge of a box or a door as
you turn ? ...

I'm using Casio devices. They are very robust. You should contact a
reseller to test it.
