Developed in 'O3, Used by '02 version users, auto-update question

Hi all,

I've set up one of my apps at one of our facilities across town. I have
access to the server where the backend resides from my computer at my office,
and I've included an 'auto FE' update feature that compares version numbers
at start up of the application and copies an updated version of the FE to the
user's computer IF one is available.

When I installed the app on the first couple of people's computers yesterday
(the front end I mean) as sort of a 'first run', there were a couple of
problems and I'm almost sure it's because I forgot to check the references
and modify them as needed. My users have Access '02 but the app was
developed in '03.

That's got me thinking now. If I want to continue development at my office
and copy the newer versions of the frontend to the server for 'auto updating'
of users versions, what are my options? Would it be possible for me to get
copies of things like "MS Access10 object library" and a few other dll files
that might be different than what my '03 version uses, put them in the
appropriate place on my harddrive (Read: so that the path to these dlls on my
computer matches the paths on users' computers....for example, add an
"Office10" folder to my computer and put files like the office10 object
library in there).

OR, do I just HAVE to have the '02 version to be able to use the auto-update
successfully without having to make reference adjustments on a per-machine
basis (read: in person)? It might be possible for me to get it but it might
not be possible for some practical reasons relating to my work situation.

TIA,
CW

The Access references should switch just fine. What other references
do you have? Possibly you have some that aren't needed.
