Determining Who Authored a Particular Contact

On my exchange server network, we are using Outlook 2003 and sharing our
company contacts via a contacts public folder. Is there a way that I can
determine who entered/authored a particular contact? If this capability does
not already exist, is there a way that I can add a field to the standard New
Contact form (e.g. such as an "Author" field where the author of the new
contact would enter their initials?

You'll find that this is surprisingly easy to do. The same field that shows
the sender of a message in a mail folder also displays the creator of a
contact (or other type of item). Switch to the Phone List view (or create a
new table view). Right-click the column headings and choose Field Chooser
from the pop-up context menu. In the drop-down list at the top of the Field
Chooser, select All Mail Fields. Drag the From field from the Field Chooser
to the column headings. If you click on From, you can sort by the creator.
You can also right-click on the From field and choose Group By This Field
for another way of viewing all of each person's contacts together.
