Determining processor type based on MSinfo32 .nfo file

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to take inventory of all of the pc's in different regional
offices for the company I work for. I've had everyone send me their .nfo file
generated from msinfo32.

My problem now is, in the .nfo it shows processor as 'x86 Family 15 MOdel 4
Stepping 7 GenuineIntel 2992 Mhz'. How can I figure out what processor this
is in terms of 'pentium 4 2992'?

I really appreciate any help that you could offer.

2992 Mhz = 3 Ghz

Yeah, the clockspeed is obvious, i'm wondering about the processor family,
like 'pentium 4' or 'intel core 2 duo' etc.

Hi Bob, Thanks so much for your time and help.

That utility is to identify the proc. for the pc the utility is run from.
However, I have had everyone send me their .nfo files so that won't work. Do
you know if there is a list anywhere that might say 'x86 Family 15 Model 4
Stepping 7 GenuineIntel = Pentium 3'?
