Detect mouse/keyboard.

Is there any way (WITHOUT REBOOTING) that you can tell
Windows 2000 to re-detect your PS/2 keyboard & mouse?

I use a KVM switch on a few servers. When my server
rebooted, the keyboard&mouse were set to another machine.
So it works fine except that the key&mouse don't respond.

I tried to detect new hardware but that didn't work.

Any ideas?
thanks.

It sounds like this is the mechanical KVM switch. Anyway, good switch should
emulate a circuit on the PS/2 ports. If it doesn't, Windows can re-detect
the PS/2 devices only if they're existed during a boot but only a keyboard
will work.

Hi Rob

how about:

<WinKey>+<Pause/Break> => Hardware tab => Device Manager => Scan for
hardware changes

Hope this helps...
