I got hijacked in internet explorer, and some spyware was installed.
I ran Ad-Aware with the latest reference file to clean it off (reboot
and ran again). I made sure there were not any spyware files on the
startup list in msconfig.
I had to reinstall windows media player to get my media files to
work... their icons had been changed, and I couldn't play them.
But I still have a problem with the desktop. All of the icons are
nonresponsive. If I mouse over them, I get the file info, but I can't
select/delete/execute/right click... anything.
I can create new folders and download files to the desktop, but then I
can't do anything with them.
The start menu and the system tray icons are working fine.
If I browse to the Desktop in Windows Explorer, I am able to
select/delete/execute/etc.
System Restore did not fix the problem either.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks
