desktop organizational change

I'd like to see Microsoft create a way for us to create a thin box, like you
find in paint tools, that you could click and drag to whatever size you want,
and move it to any portion of the desktop. I would want it to be able to
have a place at the top of the box where a label (name) could be typed in.
The purpose of this easy, quick, click & drag box (w/ a name ascribed), is so
you can create a thin visible barrier around certain icons making it easy to
distinguish that those icons are part of a common theme, group, or usuage.

For instance - on my desktop I have some file folders. 1/3 of those folders
relate to Marketing, another too Misc. I could create the box, drag it over
those 3-5 folders, type a name for that box, that would be small and at the
top fo the box, then whenever I go to my Desktop I can quickly see the
parings. I would do a box for other icons too, like "programs",
"applications", whatever, etc....

Keep in the mind box I'd want created would be EMPTY. It's just a thin
border we'd be creating, because it would go around the icons, to whatever
size we drag it. Just like on the paint tool programs.

Someone tell me you like this idea.

Thanks!

Interesting idea, but it has nothing to do with Microsoft Access. I'd
suggest you post this in a Windows OS newsgroup to get better feedback.

Indy Man,
Well, it may or may not be a good idea, but you've really asked the wrong newsgroup.
This NG deals with MS Access, a realtional database development application.
Try this question in a microsoft.public.* newsgroup that deals with your operating
system.
There are probably many desktop managers, I'm just not sure "boxing" icons would be
included.
Try a Google on "desktop" "managers"... worth a try
