Desktop.ini for c:\windows folder

I cannot get this folder to take a custom icon. I was successfull in creating one for the c:\program files folder. I performed the same procedure for the c:\windows folder but no luck. I also set the icon that I want on the c:\windows folder to the c:\program folder no problems. I then copied the desktop.ini file from c:\program files to c:\windows folder, but no such luck. Has anyone created a custom icon for the c:\windows folder?

Damn! Do you know how long I have been frustrated over this thing! Thanks for your help. I tried all the other settings like attrib +s and +h and I would have never thought that I couldn't read the dir since explorer and command shell could.

Another satisfied customer! Thanks again.
