Desktop icons

When I boot up XP Home, all the icons first appear on the desktop with
generic icons and then one by one change to the correct icons. This
takes about 15-20 seconds. Is there any way to make XP place the
correct icons on the desktop all together (like my Win 95 machine does)
thereby speeding up the bootup time.

Hi Kelly,

Tried installing the reg tweak on line 157 "Prevent Automatic Folder &
icon refresh" but the same thing happens (see orig message below). What
is folder and icon refresh when it is ON? I assume it is now OFF on my
machine. Any other ideas? There is another tweak on line 157, "Prevent
delay opening my computer". What does that one do?
