Desktop icons + pictures

I'm running WinXP Home and when I saved an image file (gif, jpg, tif, psd) on the desktop, it would show a small thumbnail of the image. I recently uninstalled Photoshop 6 and installed PhotoshopCS. After I did this, the icons on the desktop now have the default windows icon (tifs have a little forrest/mountain scene on a page, jpgs have a little surfing/sunset scene on a little page, gifs have a triangle, square and circle). When I double click the files, they open in Photoshop, so the files are associated correctly. Does anyone know how I can fix this (or what exactly happened)?

Thanks,

Aaron
