Desktop icons appear only after F5 (Refresh)

Can somebody help me with this strange problem?

I have a windows 2003 Active directory domain.
I'm using a new PC's with Windows XP Pro (dutch) with all updates.

In the group policy i redirect the desktop tot c:\_menu\desktop.

During the login script (kixtart) i remove all items from the desktop
and after that i copy the icons for that user from a network share to
the desktop location.

Sometimes everything works fine, but (most often) all shortcuts are
copied to the desktop location but i can't see them on the desktop.
I only see My Computer, Network.
After pressing F5 (refresh) i can see all desktop icons.

I tried almost everything but i think it has to do with the speed of
the PC's. It looks also that the problem is worser after a reboot of
the PC. When i login a second time after the reboot the chance is
bigger that everything works ok.

What can i do to fix this problem or make a workaround.

Sounds like you want them to start from the same setup each time. You may
consider a mandatory profile:

However, to your specific issue ... you could refresh the desktop from your
kixtart script as follows:

SENDKEYS ("{F5}") ... in a perfect world, though I doubt that would work.
Perhaps you could use SetWallpaper( ) and that would force a refresh.

Though to be honest,
