Desktop Flipped

My stepson is using Windows XP on his computer. He does a lot of
downloading using Shareeaza and we have had problems with adware which
my Freedom software has normally been able to get rid of. Yesterday,
he was playing an internet game called Maple Story and all of a sudden,
the desktop flipped to a 90-degree angle. No matter what we try, we
can't get back the desktop to the way it's normally supposed to be.
I've run both the anti-virus and spyware programs. Adware and tracking
cookies have been deleted and the anti-virus software has detected no
viruses. Spyware and anti-virus files are up to date.

As well, the internet function on my stepson's computer has slowed down
to a crawl. Any suggestions on what we can do to restore the desktop
and bring the internet back to full capacity? Also, what can we do to
prevent this from happening in the future?

Many thanks in advance for the help.

You can try going into your Display Properties of your Video Card and
there should be an option there to flip your screen back to normal. If
you have like a Nvidia video card, I believe its something called
NVrotate or something similar.

Peer to Peer programs are always a problem because they can eat alot of
your bandwidth. My only suggestion is to get rid of them or uninstall
them from the computer. If you guys MUST use a P2P sharing program,
give LimeWire a try and also Bittorrent. But once again, they will eat
up bandwidth like crazy.
