Desktop does not load.

I system boots into the windows logon screen as normal. It
takes forever to load even the background of my desktop,
but never loads Windows to the desktop. I can only see the
background. I can log off, restart, or shut down.
I go go into task manager where I see some of the usual
services, but not all. I have left it on in the load
sequence for over an hour but the system never finishes
loading windows.

Help! Would it help to bypass the systray items not
needed? How do you bypass them?

Thanks

Dennis
