desktop disappeared

I'm having a problem with my desktop. When win2k starts up, everything is
fine until I get to my desktop. I see my desktop background (plain blue
screen) and NOTHING else (no icons, taskbar, mouse pointer, nothing). I can,
however, get to Task Manager by hitting ctrl-alt-del. Explorer.exe is
running, so I dont 'understand why I can't see anything on the desktop. Any
ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi I just have a question regarding the task manager in
windows 2000 professional. I have 30 things running in the
task manager, I would like to know which programs to let
running or the main ones. If you know I would appreciated
if you could tell me thanks Israel.
