Design Master?

I've been using Access for a while now, and I'm constantly learning new
things as I progress. And I've recently come accross something that I'm not
sure about. How would one benefit to convert your database to a design
master and have users input data into replicas? Is it a structure issue?
Because users have the ability to change design on database objects. If
that's the case, isn't that accomplished with user and group permissions?
Just curious, I'm creating a database for my company and I'd like to know all
aspects before it goes underway.

Design Master and Replicas are used in replication. This set up allow users
to view / add / edit data "off-line" and then synchronize the data later.

Check Access Help / your Access book on replication.
