Des Vista Aero slow down computers?

Just wondering how much Vista Aero (full effects), vista basic take up cpu
usuage and memory (main memory not Graphic card memory) and whether it slows
the computer down a bit or not.

Many tests have been performed by different people and it has been found
that Aero has a negligible affect on the performance of Vista - on an
adequate machine.
