Deploy app with hundreds of folders

I need a little help to build a setup project that will install the app as
well as deploy support files where the support files are contained in
hundreds of sub-folders.

My first thought was to compress the folder structure and then uncompress
this as a custom action. But, I can't guarantee that my clients will have
Compact.exe or winzip or any other type of decompression program.

What options can I investigate?

The installer already compress the files, otherwise you can deliver
the compact.exe with the installer.

Yes, compact will work for the compression factor. I didn't know that
compact was redistributable.
