Deleting under My Network Places

Can you simply right click and delete a machine in My Network Places? I'm
getting a new desktop and I want to set up my network from scratch again.
This will be a Dell Dimension 4700, DSL with wireless gateway, Dell Inspiron
9300. I have the 9300 and am expecting the 4700 today. I want to delete
the current network arrangements in the 9300 and set up my network from
square one after I get the 4700 up and running.

Under My Network Places, you don't have a list of machines;
you have a list of shared resources on the machines.

It appears as a folder icon with a network cable under it.
For example, it may say "Shared Stuff on Ron's PC".

This is populated automatically ( unless you turn this feature off ).

To remove these shortcuts to shared folders,
simply right-click, and select delete.

In the Entire Network - Workgroup Computers view, you see the actual
computers in the workgroup. This list updates itself automatically. A
machine needs to announce itself periodically to remain listed. If the
machine is taken offline, it stops announcing itself, and after missing a
few announcement periods, it will be removed from the list.
