Deleting mail from server, but keeping a copy in Outlook?

I use the program K9 to filter out junk mail, which it does by adding
"[K9Spam]" to the subject. I then have a rule in Outlook 2003 which moves any
downloaded email that matches to the Junk Mail folder. Outlook checks for new
mail every 5 minutes.

Because I access my email from several machines, I leave email on the server
(a POP3 server) for two days before Outlook deletes it. This means quite a
bit of junk accumulates there. This, however, hasn't been a problem until
now.

I've now started checking my email from my mobile phone. Of course, it now
picks up all the (unfiltered) junk. What I want to do, then, is alter my rule
in Outlook so that it deletes the junk from the server. However, I don't want
to delete it from Outlook, just in case it's not actually junk.

So, what I wanted to change my rule to say is basically this:

If email subject contains "[K9Spam]" then
- move a copy to Junk Email
and delete it from server

There doesn't seem to be an option to "delete it from server", but Google
searches suggest that "permanently delete it" does the same job. However,
adding this to my rule doesn't delete it from the server at all.

Does anyone know how I can do what I want?

Change the mail setting time to every 10 minutes to give the servers time to
reset. Your rule will not work because the {k-spam} is added after Outlook
downloads the mail. Rules only work when it is being downloaded, not
afterwards.

No, [K9Spam] gets added before Outlook downloads the mail. The rule works so
far as the email is copied to the Junk Mail folder, it's the deleting from the
server that doesn't work.

Waiting 10 minutes makes no difference. Nor does 30 minutes, 3 hours, or a
whole day.

There is no such ability in Outlook.

That seems like a terrible and glaring omission! Is there another solution
which could do this?

Use a an antispam proxy like SpamBayes or a tool like MailWasher.

I am using one - K9. It doesn't delete mail though (as it's only a proxy),
and I can't use a proxy on my phone.

Apparently it doesn't delete from the server, though, and that's what you
need. Others, like MailWasher, do.
