Deleting files does not alter free space

R

Rob

I am running a Win 2k machine with Service Pack 4.

This morning I deleted 9 Gigs worth of files, however the free space on the
drive remains unchanges at aroung 20mb! I can't work out how to make
Windows realise the file has gone.

I have tried all the obvious steps e.g recycle bin, defrag, rebooting etc.

I have a feeling it may have something to do with running Norton System
Works??

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Rob

I'd hazard a guess at either Norton, or the terrible "System Restore"
utility that keeps a backup of them (just incase).
