Deleting Deleted User Files

I recently deleted ithrough Control Panel a User that was no longer required
.. It had been set up for temporary use while I had visitors from overseas .
I now see that in the Windows Explorer / Documents and Settings there is
still a Folder bearing the name of the deleted user and all the previous
files e.g. Application data , desktop, Favourites, Local Settings ,My
Documents etc.that seem to be appear in all user directories.
I expected all this to be deleted when deleting the actual user but it
appears not .
My question is can I just delete the whole directory shown under this old
User name or will this cause problems and affect the similarly named files
and settings in my own profile or in the Windows System .

Is there any other way round this?

When you deleted the account from User Accounts in Control Panel you
told it to keep the files when you really didn't want that. Yes, you can
delete the files manually. They have nothing to do with your account.

Thanks for that , just wanted to be sure .
I must say that I cannot recall having any option come up for me to choose
whether or not to keep the files .
