Deleted Registry Key

Deleted a registry key. HKLM\Software\Classes\Interface\{DECC98E1-EC43...
Now, I have no icons, no start menu, shortcut keys are disabled. Bascially, I
have no interface. Programs run fine via task manager. What do I do to fix
this. It's been 3 days.

Just a question out of curiosity. Why,who or what told you to delete that string in the Registry

Hi Christopher,

Am assuming beings you posted here, that you didn't export the file before
deletion. That said, which/what instructions were you following that led
you to do this? I have checked three machines here under LM and there is no
such listing. Would need more info.

Do a system restore to a date before you messed with the registry.
Start | Help and Support | System Restore (on the tool bar)

No Start Menu, so he can't click on Start.... but since he can run programs
from the Task Manager's Run dialog, Start System Restore but putting this in
your Run box:

%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe

Best of luck!

Also there's an option to use System Restore on entering safe mode .. tap f8
while booting up

Sorry missed the part about the no start menu.

I ran NoAdware. Didn't want to pay 29.95 for it to do what I thought I could
do. I removed this entry as NoAdware had said was infected. When I rebooted,
ta-da, no icons and no interface. Big mistake on my part. Lesson learned. I
did what was suggested and ran system restore. It worked. Thanks for
everyone's help.
