Deleted Program appears in Add/Remove Program

Hi,

I was not able to remove a game that I installed in my notebook through the
Add/Remove Programs in the control panel. I was also not able to uninstall it
through the uninstall that came with the game.

Therefore I simply right clicked on the folder and deleted it. I know the
program is no longer in my system but when I look in Add/Remove Program, it
still appears there. I restarted the system a couple of times to see if it
dissappears but no luck with that.

How can I get rid of it? My system is XP Pro (SP 1).
Thank you.

Daphne;
Reinstall the program, reboot, then uninstall through Add/Remove
Programs.

If she's lucky she can attempt to uninstall from Add/Remove. If all files are in fact deleted then it will remove from list. However if it uses a well known installer that dumps the uninstall in Windows then Add/Remove will think there's still a file there and the uninstall will error..

Yes Jupiter Jones,

I tried that, but when I insert the disk, I am given 3 options by the set up
wizard.
Repair, Modify and Remove.

When I click Modify, to reinstall all previously installed components, I get
a message saying,"Insufficient memoryin C Drive". The first time round I
installed it in E Drive. Now I don't get the screen that allows me to browse
to which location I want it installed.

I tried Repair and Remove, although the wizard tells me that the operation
was successful, nothing really happened. What else can I do?

Thank you.

Open the registry

Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Unistall

Find the name of the program in the list and delete it.
