Deleted Items

This concerns Outlook 2003:

I have a user who cannot recover any deleted items from his Outlook. As
emails are deleted, they appear to be permanently deleted. When you
highlight the deleted items folder and go to tools|recover deleted items,
there are no emails available for restoration.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

TIA.

Hi Jim;

First click on the deleted folder and check if there
are any contents. if you see your mails, just drag and
drop or highlight them using the shift key and mouse.
then Move then to the Inbox.
However, the deleted item box is empty, that means they
are deleted permently and can not be recover.
To avoid problems in future, make sure that in outlook
setting you have not selected "empty trash folder on exit"

I help this helped

Mavrik...thanks for the response, but that had already been tried/checked.

The option to automatically delete the deleted items folder is not checked
and the user has not been 'flushing' his deleted items by permanently
deleting them via opening the recover deleted items folder and then
permanently deleting them.

It appears that this is another Outlook 2003 quirk.

Thanks again.

Jim
