Deleted Items Missing

When I delete an email it does not show up in my deleted items folder. It
just disappears. I deleted an email accidentally and now I cannot find it
because none of my deleted emails are in the folder. Where are they going?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Depending on when did you find out the deleted items were missing......
If you closed the window, reopened it later and found out deleted items were
gone : --
Tools > Options > Advanced > Maintenance. UN-check the first one " Empty
messages from the Deleted Items folder on exit "
If you found out right away, I can't help.

So did you have that setting checked?
(Empty messages from the Deleted Items folder on exit).
It is not the default.

Nini, even simpler: go to "view", "current view", "show all messages". This
will solve your problem. I had the exact same thing going on and this is the
solution.

Similar situation here but it's my deleted items folder where the problem
occurs. In drop down folder list, it's showing I have over 300 deleted
messages in the deleted items folder. Right clicking or going to the Edit
drop down to "empty the deleted folder" gives me the message of "An Unknown
Error Has Occurred". However, when I actually open the deleted items folder,
it appears totally empty!
I've checked out many of these discussion posts looking for a solution and
tried a few fixes but none work, not even the positive sounding advice from
Gary VanderMolen.
