Deleted Emails

I am running the latest version of Outlook on XP. I am using IMAP. My
question is that when I delete my messages, I can't find them in the trash.
When I click on trash it says "this folder is empty" Any idea about how I
can get my deleted emails to go to the trash?

IMAP accounts don't have a trash folder. When you delete an IMAP item, it
simply marks it for deletion, represented by an overstrike through the
message subject. It stays i its folder. Later, if you click Edit>Purge
Deleted Messages, the message will be permanently deleted.
