delete recent folder adminition

I click start, click log off or turn off computer and every time I ge
an information message box that states, "Recent is a windows syste
folder and is required to run Windows properly. It cannot be deleted.
I have searched the internet, news groups, Microsoft.com and on and o
and I can't find out what I have done to make me have this message bo
appear or how to stop this message from occurring.

What have I done?
In task manager I found the application and went to the process
explorer.exe. Since the message was an information popup box I went t
the event viewer and looked under applications and systems but wa
unable to find any event associated with this event. I searched all o
the log files on the c drive and still came up empty. I thought mayb
it was a folder option, or a performance setting or in TweakIUXP but t
no avail. The only thing I was able to find on the Internet was
reference to Hijackthis.exe. I downloaded the program and looked at i
but I didn't do anything with this program and uninstalled it.

My system:
I run Windows XP explorer with service patch 2, Norton Interne
Security and keep both programs up-to-date.

What I would like:
1. To find out what program or process is trying to delete the recen
folder on shutdown.
2. or how to disable this message box
3. or what I have done to my system to make this message appear.

Thanks for any help
