Delete Key on keyboard will not delete Outlook Emails

Here's the skinny.... A user is running a Mod SID of XP
Pro with Office 2000. He opens up his inbox, highlights
and email to delete and hits the delete keys on his
keyboard. The email does NOT delete... He can right click
on his mouse, choose delete, and the email deletes. We
have created a new profile for him and this works for
about an hour and then back to the above mentioned. No
other user has ever reported this. We have changed out
keyboards. The keys work just fine in all other Office
applications.

Any suggestions????????

Is the e-mail highlighted in grey or blue? If grey then the window isn't
selected and nothing will happen until you select the window. Click anywhere
within the e-mail list. If it is blue then you have a problem

Hi,

Is your problem solved? One of my user is also having the same problem. In
addition, under PowerPoint, the backspace key becomes the ASCII code version
(a black rectangle with a white circle in the center). The problem is
"temporary" resolved when the user restarts the system or a random process
thread is deleted. Hardware is not an issue because the same problem occurs
on another user's pc, but the other user has no problem. Would appreciate if
anyone could advise on ways to resolve this.

Thanks in advance.
