Delete file with CRC error

T

Tony

Does anyone know how to go about deleting a file with a
cyclic redundancy check(CRC)error?

The problem is preventing me from rinstalling essential
software.

Your assistance would be fantastic, thanks.

What error do you get if you try to delete it with through windows explorer
?

Have you tried running chkdsk which may fix the error.

go into my computer, right click on the drive/properties/tools tab.
click on check now and tick both boxes. If its the windows xp partition then
confirm to run chkdsk at system start and reboot. This will probably fix the
error and you should be able to delete the file through windows explorer.

If not, try deleting it from a command prompt.
