In my current Powerpoint presentation my first slide contains only an
imported sound file, which runs 5 slides. The second and subsequent slides
contain only imported jpeg images, timed to open with sections of the initial
sound file. When I first start the presentation, the images are maybe 1/2
second delayed in opening, i.e. they are not timed as intended with the
sound. Then second and subsequent tries at playing the presentation, the
timing between the sound and images is correct and as intended. What is
happening and how can I correct this so that the timing is correct the first
time?

PowerPoint is constrained by the system resources available at the time. Make
sure that nothing else is running and that your hard disk has been well
maintained - - i.e., defragged and the \Temp folder is cleaned out. It may just
be that your system doesn't have enough memory, processor speed, free disk
space, etc. See - -
