Defragmenting the hard drive

OS - Vista Home Basic
Hard Drive Partition Type - NTFS
Hard Drives - 2 Internals & 1 USB External

I am wondering if there is a better tool to optimise the hard drives, I have
used the Microsoft Defragmenter and I am not happy with the results. I did
use O&O Defrag Version 4 when I had Windows XP Professional and noticed a
good increase in speed.

Is there any defrag tool avalible for windows vista or am i stuck with the
Microsoft defragmenter.

If you want to try a free alternative to the Vista defrag you can try
Auslogics. It's free.

I'm not sure it is a better tool than the Vista version, but at least you
can see what's going on.

A good defragmenter is PerfectDisk by Raxco. The current version
is 8.0.
