Defraging a raid set

Is there any point to defraging a raid array? In a raid array isn't every
file broke up into a bunch of fragments and spread across drives?

A raid array can get fragmented just like a single drive.
Although the stripes are fragmentation of the file(s) on
different drives, each successive stripe per drive that
corresponds to the file being accessed will be adjacent to
the last (stripe per drive) if not fragmented so you have
the same reason to defrag.

That doesn't mean you need to defrag more often either, some
people overdo it and defrag every week it seems while most
uses don't require or get substantial benefit from doing it
this often.
