defrag issue

I defrag my hard drives about twice a month. After
doing a little drive cleaning I thought it best to defrag
my hard drives. After running the XP dick defrag It said
unable to defrag some files and upon veiwing the report
it said that I had a 4% fragmentation. Most of which was
in a file titled " windows.000\memory.dmp." What is this
file and why won't it defragment? Any assistance you can
give me would be helpful. Thank you very much.

probably couldn't defrag because it's too big.
This file is the result of a previous system crash.
If you are not going to be debugging this crash, it's
safe to delete that file.
