Definition of Multi-homed?

After reading a number of posts on the subject, I'm still trying to
understand if a Win2K Server (Dell Powervault) with 2 nic's connected to the
same LAN is considered a multi-homed machine. The cards have the IP
addresses 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3.

The question comes up as I'm working through the possible causes of slow
netbios activity. It takes a long time to see all the machines on the LAN
when browsing with the network neighborhood.

Thanks,

Lou

Yes, any machine with two or more network interfaces would be considered as
multihomed. Why do you have two interfaces on the same LAN?

Our Dell Powervault 725N has 2 NIC's and performs load balancing, presumably
to increase throughput. Would NetBIOS be happier if I only used one of the
nic's?

Thanks for your reply.
