Hi, have a Dell laptop (M1330) that came with McAfee security center. Had a virus and trouble free year. Is up for renewal and seems a bit pricey ($140Auz for 2 years).

What is the consensus on the best antivirus software, a quick google and majority seem to shy away from the mainstream Norton and McAfee, lots of praise for AVG.

What do you think?
Is Mcafee a bugger to uninstall like Norton?

Thanks

Neil.

Hi,

Welcome to PCReview

Some good ones Antivir, Nodset 32 & Kaspersky.

Kaspersky is generally considered to be the best.

All have free trials available at their websites so try before you buy.

Kaspersky if you want paid for software, its been the best AV, I have been using it for 2 years now and never had a problem with it. I reconmmend it, and you should download the trail veriosn and give it ago. :)

If you want free software then Anti Vir or Avast will do fine.
