Defender Won't Install

Hi,

Defender requires XP Serv Pack 2. I can't use Serv Pack 2 because it always
causes problems with my 'puter. Always.

I'm completely up-to-date with all the security patches and the other stuff
I need.

Is there a way to install WITHOUT serv pack2?

Not that I am aware of. My perspective would put SP2 as a higher priority
than getting Windows Defender in place.

I haven't seen this issue myself, and I'm not sure what the best venue is
for working through this kind of issue--but I'd sure recommend that you work
through them and get SP2 in place, if possible.
