Defender updating-Versions.Engines,Definitions

Well,

Even tho this is a Beta test; a few questions?

1) Does automatic update only update the Definition file?
a) If so;is there a way to update the engine and actual Defender
version;instead of add/remove then re-download?

2) this point I have brought up before so I won't linger on it. Other people
have posted it also but;

MSAS was much;much farther advanced in it's functionality, and it is
seemingly stepping backwards with Defender, not to have tool options more
accessable. Granted this still is a Beta test,so I for one definitely would
like better end-user interaction then just on/off for RTP and definetly at
least a log somewhere to look at individual scans;instead of jusst allowed
or quarantined. And the main page should definetly give at least a way to
see the actual scan results in a way other than"No unwanted or harmful
software detected"-Don't get me wrong-=that is a nice little app;however
there should be a way to see a log of scans and what Defender did or did not
do;short of having to go to the event viewer and filter for Defender
issues.Defender has a very long way to go to even catch up to the older
MSAS.Sorry if this sounded like a rant;but there definetly still "issues"
with Defender even in Beta 2

Today after reading various posts I learned that at some point in Aprl windows defender was changed from 1.1.11051.0 to 1.1..1347.0. I downloaded the defender again and it updated what was already installed without having to uninstall defender and reinstall. The recent update KB15597 which was a defination update also completed without problem. I having been having the same issues as other users, no diskette, install failed, error ox36B1, by downloading the defender again this sloved all issues. I also noticed that under computer management system tools a message stating side by side reference assembly missing. After installing 1347 this to disappeared. I wish that microsoft included this change on the window update page it would have saved me weeks of grief.

Didn't read this 'til now. When there are scan results, they show in
history, and you'll get pointed right at them.

I'm not sure what you mean by just on and off for RTP--if you scroll down in
Tools, Options, the same range of agents are individually selectable--true,
they are on/off, but it isn't just RTP as a whole.
