Defender problem

I can't open attachments or download because of some corrupt files. I get an
Mpoav.dll error. The message in the command window says some files are
corrupt and it can't fix them. What do I do?

Not sure where you are trying to download from-IE? First do an antivirus
scan. If you are running IE make sure it is version IE7. If not upgrade and
see if the issue is resolved. If not run sfc /scannow in the Run field if you
have the XP CD to repair the issue.
