Defender forgets I scanned

Vista build #5384
Over the last few days Defender arrives on my system tray telling me I
haven't scanned my computer for 3 days - today it was 4 days despite having
scanned it when prompted yesterday.

I had the settings to scan daily although the scan should only start @16.00
today.
I have changed these settings now as I have already scanned and set them to
a weekly scan. I know Defender had update problems when installed on XP but I
think mine has a memory problem in Vista as I am getting this alert when I
boot each day now.

Just a guess, but if you are switching between XP and Vista, is it possible
that XP is seeing scans from Vista and deleting them? (Same issue as System
Recovery Points with volsnap.sys) Just a thought.

Thank you for replying

I don't have Defender installed on the XP side plus I rarely boot into XP as
this computer is for Vista beta test.
I have been booting to Vista only had to boot to XP to test a few things fro
AVG last week. Some of my AVG files are locked without access with the
install for Vista.

I didn't even have MSAS on XP as it really was only set up to prepare for
Vista.
I will see what happens tomorrow on booting.

OT:
I did notice my own restore points in Vista - volsnap.sys

Hopefully I can fix these with a fresh install on next release.

I think I have found the reason for Defender doing this on me.
I had UAC disabled but now I have an AV which works with my setup I enabled
UAC again which seems to have stopped Defender adding how many days each time
I boot. I am not too sure why but enabling UAC must have helped for some
reason.
