Default User Account

I have set up my default user account with admin rights and a guest's one with
no admin rights. Now I've lost my password... I don't understand whether my
account is the Administrator account or it has only admin rights, i.e. Can I
log
from safe mode as Administrator??

Hope the question is clear

Many thanks

In this case, the "default user account" must be the one you normally log in
as and use?

You neglected to say what operating system (version at least) you have
and/or what the actual username of the "default user account" that you have
lost the password to was/is.

What happens if you boot into safe mode and choose to log on as the user
"administrator"?

Boot to safe mode, log in as administrator (that's the username - you are
not using that one in XP Home Edition unless you are in safe mode...) and
change the password of the user you forgot the password for. As it is XP
Home - you have no fear about the Encrypted File System...
