Default Save As format in Outlook

Guest

I want to have a default Save As option that saves emails in Outlook Message
format (.msg) format.
I have just implemented an Access database and want to make emails clickable
from within the database. If my Outlook emails are in .msg then I can do
this, but at present the default comes up as .txt. This will be a bit
problematic for my users.
Any ideas?

Outlook chooses as the default Save As format the file type for each type of item that will allow the saved file to be opened without Outlook being present. If you want users to save items as .msg files, you'll need to train them to follow the necessary steps or write an Outlook COM add-in that gives them a button on the toolbar to save items in .msg format.
