default "read only"

I want to burn my Access 2002 (Windows XP Professional)
files onto a CD and use them on my office computer which
has the same version of Access. The files are all "read
only". I tried unchecking the read only box when I had
the file open on my computer but it would not allow me to
do so. I also tried saving it as read-only from Windows
Explorer, but I got an error message saying something
about permissions. Can anyone help me with this
seemingly simple read only issue? Thank you.

You can't check the read-only box while the file's open. Copy it from the CD
to the other PC, check the boxes, then open them.

Thanks for responding Doug. Checking the read only box
when the file was open was a last resort. I went to
start up, programs, admin tools and unchecked read only
for all files and subfolders; I tried unchecking the read
only box from Explorer, from the desktop, everywhere.
There is something "deep within" (scary!) which is not
allowing me to burn or e-mail any editable access files.
Any other ideas?
