Default Process Priority

Hi,
I have being trying to find a way to make my applications run on a default
priority,
for example, every time windows loads I would like MSN Messenger to run on
below normal priority automatically and say run explorer on above normal
priority, just as an example.

Does anyone know of a way to do this?
I have tried a program called Process Lasso but this is limited function
unless you purchase the software.

Thank you,
Josh

Why? It's a pointless thing to do. You don't need to know how so no point in telling you.

And since when are you the judge of that?
I disagree, I think that it can be quite helpful in certain situations.

That is one of the most unhelpful answers I have seen on this forum.

Why should you restrict knowledge?

If you want to be an idiot don't involve others. Do your own research. Try help. But you are a wankler.

David,
Well, I happen to think Josh is correct.
If someone wants to do something, and you know how to, why not tell him ?

To refuse is a form of abuse, if not violence. I'll have to read your
reference to see where you stand on the issue of violence.

Josh,
I'm sorry that I don't have the answer. There are ways to set the priorities
of programs. I have seen it, but can't recall.

You might try the Help and Support from the Start menu.

If there isn't a Windows function, there may be some 3rd party program that
does it. Perhaps you could Google for "set program priorities" or similar

Why do you think Josh is correct? You are such an expert on priority, so pray tell?

What priority would messenger have? What priority would explorer have if you are using it?

Or are we merely having boys playing with carburettors and hijacking the group for adolescent fantasy.

In the last 66 hours, 47 minutes, and 35 seconfs Messenger has used a total of 10 seconfs of CPU time. Explorer (the Desktop and Start) a total of 8 minutes and 48 seconds. It is the highest with OE second highest at 5 odd minutes. It has spent a total of 2 hours and 23 minutes running programs.

So it MIGHT do something insignificant (will make measurement hard). But will it? And if it does will it improve or degrade (by an insignificant amount) performance?

Thank you for your reply trevor,
and obviously David you did not understand my post, i clearly wrote FOR
EXAMPLE with MSN Messenger, just in general I was asking in general how to
set default priorities (Your post prior to this is the only text you wrote at
all that is constructive).

I can see your level of intellect and maturity, calling people stupid and
w***ers.
If you are so smart, why don't you tell me the answer? Instead of trying to
put others down.

I will do some more research, I think you could at least show some maturity
in your answers, and if you don't have anything helpful to say, please don't
say anything, now all you accomplished is changing my question into an
argument.

Josh,

While Dave is obviously a smart guy and occasionally posts the technically
accurate and informative message, I mostly read his posts for the
entertainment value. In fact it's been a while I've seen Dave rip somebody
a new one, and I kinda missed that. :)

Don't sweat it.
