Default Domain Policy: Passwords

A

Allison

I have modified our default domain policy to include a password policy
whereby users are required to change their password every xx days.

While this is working properly the majority of the time - every so often -
users comply by changing their password - however for several days after -
they continue to be prompted to change their password.

Any ideas??

Hi Allison-

When are they prompted for the credentials? Is it at logon, or is it
possible that they may have applications that are caching the old
credentials?

Upon logon - they are prompted on day 1 to change password. The user
changes their password.

On day 2 - the user logs on - they are prompted again to change their
password.

We noted that this was happening on desktops running W2K , W2K sp1 and W2K
sp2. After applying SP4 - problems have corrected.

Thanks.
