Decimal places question

Hello. I need to format a field with 3 decimal places. I tried round but does
not work very well.

At the moment I'm using this format([field];"0.000")

; because I'm im Portugal.

This is working ok.

My problem is when I'll change for a PC that the decimal symbol is comma not
dot it will not assumes the correct format. I think..

How can I solve this?

where in gods name is a comma used as a decimal point i have never
heard of that though it should still work how is it now working

regardless you coudl always edit the table and modify the default
decimal places from auto to 3

to do this open the table in design view then goto the field with the
decimal places then find the property window and change decimal places
from auto to 3

Ummm...

Most countries in Continental Europe. Germany, Belgium, Netherlands off the
top of my head.

really thats just odd so what do they use for 1000 seperators or dont

They reverse the roles of , and .:

100.000.000,00

You got me curious... try opening Start... Control Panel... Regional and
Language Options. Try some of the (many!!) choices of region. Some use blanks
for thousands delimiters, which must make for VERY fun programming.

damn i bet it does thank god i dont live in europe -_- life would just
be too difficult as a programmer\dba my question how would you know
the difference in a sentance that 123 123 is not 123,123 and is the
number 123 twice i think i have foind somethign to play with for the

well i found the ultimate programme killer it is itilian switzerland
it is in the format 43'343.32

a single quote regardless we have defaulted off topic but regardless i
believe i answered it in my first post
